Making Your Computer a Personal Video Server

I first read about this personal video server of sorts by Olivelink over at PVRBlog.com. It seems you can stream videos from your own computer. As the promotional material says:

With Olivelink you can share your video with family, friends—anyone and everyone—anywhere in the world with nothing more than your PC and a broadband Internet connection!

You can set and require a password, etc. By the looks of it, however, I would assume this means there’s no video streaming going on if your computer isn’t on. Still, it might be worth it for some. It’s in a beta version at the moment. The front page says, “Hurry & sign up now. It’s FREE!” I wonder if the “Hurry” is simply a way to try to attact people, or if it means, “Hurry, it’s free for now, but won’t be for long.”

Some vloggers might find it worthwhile. Could be worth checking out, in any case.
